Invisible Theater - Workshop and Action

Invisible Theater
What is that?
The Invisible Theater is a special form of political-activist theater and goes back in particular to Augusto Boal and his "Theatre of the Oppressed". It's about acting out scenes on the street, on the bus, on the train, in the park, or any other place in public rather than in the theater. The spectators are there by chance and do not know that the situations are only posed. The central goal is to draw attention to discrimination and social evils in everyday life and to encourage civil courage. The scene that is acted out is fixed and carefully rehearsed beforehand so that the performers are confident enough to react to various developments. Sexual harassment, racist or heterosexist hostility or social injustice can become a topic here - depending on what moves the participants at the moment and what they want to draw attention to.
What are we up to?
In our workshop we first take a closer look at what Invisible Theater is (the basics). But then it starts and we collect the topics and situations that concern us in order to find a topic for the scenes. It can be about situations that we have experienced or observed ourselves. But we can also invent scenes that address a specific topic that is important to you. We also consider together at which location or locations the scene can be played. Next, we recreate and study the situations. We also consider how the viewers might react and try to respond to this. Then the time has come, we step into action and play our invisible theater. It is particularly important that we all talk together about what happened and how we felt about it afterwards. There will also be a cozy feedback round at the end.
Who can join?
Anyone over the age of 16 can participate. Whether young or old, whether student or pensioner, whether experienced or inexperienced, we are open to everyone. Participation is free. But there is one requirement: you should be a member of the association. For our workshops and campaigns, we have introduced a so-called partial membership. Members with a partial membership pay 10.00 euros and are only a member of the association for a period of one month. You don't need to exit. Membership ends by itself.

Why is membership important to us? As a member, you are insured against accidents and liability and with your contribution you bear part of the costs of the club's offers. You can find more information here.
